If so how do you think the semis will go? Same question to any Stretford Rangers fans. Or anybody else for that matter.

Don't agree with clubs becoming billionaires playthings ,but I guess if it was done at Derby or Malaga I wouldn't be complaining .Hope you beat the team from Stretford out of sight. Is it true or just an urban myth that real Mancs support blue as they  are the only team properly in Manchester?

Mate , i know what you meen about being a billionaires plaything , but thats the way of the premier league these days unfortunatly . remember though , it was'nt that long ago since we (Man City) were in the same position as Derby , Leeds , Forest etc . We had to fight our way back to the premier league without a penny to our name .
As a club we've always tried to produce our own players through our academy but that will only take you so far , the truth is if you want to compete with the 'big four' you have to spend big . Fortunatly Sheikh Mansour chose us and if after 30 years of suffering we will finally get to see a successful team then i dont think you'll hear many complaints from me or any other City fans !
As for the 'urban myth' ....i would say that , like most Cities with two big clubs , Manchester is probably 50/50 Red and Blue , but i would say that Man City have more 'match going' fans in Manchester than United ....all the United fans i know just buy the latest shirt and watch the games in the pub whereas the City fans actualy go to the games !
Anyway , good luck to Derby , hope to see them back in the prem soon ...thier fans deserve premier league football .

Paul from Manchester

Blue here reporting in.

To be honest I have no idea how the semi will go, it depends on which team he plays and this is all in the air after their recent F.A cup debacle (I stopped laughing about an hour ago).  If he sticks to the "kids" (average age last time out was 25) then I think we will tear them apart but who knows.  The second leg will be too close to call.  Could do with Tevez scoring the winner at the swamp to put them out though!

I watched the Man Utd v Leeds cup tie and I think that over half the starting eleven were less than 22 years of age ! I think goalkeeper Amos and Rafael were on the bench and I believe they are still in their teens.

Hello RexFlin,

You may be right but when I said "last time out" I meant in the last round of the Carling as Taggart said he was going to stick with the kids throughout the tournament.  The ave for the starting 11 was, I believe, 25.27 but I think that the big guns will start against us, at least in the second leg.

does Fletcher's suspension count in the diddy cup too?

if Fletcher doesn't play, Utd don't play so you'll have every chance

Nellie Boy

I am not quite sure about that, however Fletcher has played in central midfield (His preferred position), wide on the right of midfield, at right-back and more recently has filled in at centre-half when Man Utd had central defenders missing.Certainly works like a trojan, is a box-to-box player and breaks play up.
A very useful member of the squad and much improved.

Quote of the week and what a quote too.
Carlos Tevez has launched an incredible fresh attack on Gary Neville, accusing his former team-mate of being an "boot licking moron" following their confrontation during the Manchester derby on Tuesday night.
Oh so true carlos ,you are the king

In my humble opinion, 'Tevez' should be charged with incitement for running over to the Man Utd dugout to celebrate his goal.

Players get booked for removing their shirts (Ridiculous) whilst those who cause incitement by their actions (Like making gestures) seemingly get off scot free.

I assume that is a tongue in cheek comment designed to create the response it obviously has.

The lesser Chuckle Brother has, over the years, proved himself to be exactly as Tevez described him with his regular silly little comments.

On Tuesday a number of the rag players acted like kids in a playground emulating their Mentor's typical behaviour. Whether it was Rooney's childish attempts to put Tevez off his penalty or Neville's Spitting at the City players and crude gesture (as seen on T.V.) or the Evra V sign to the City fans at the end of the game. All of whom got off scot free.

I am aware that your comment was aimed at Tevez whilst ignoring the indignities of the said rags and yes, maybe he should not have taken a mild swipe at the people who had treated him so disgracefully but it was, never the less, understandable.  I would have liked to have seen what gary chuckle would have done in this situation.  As for it being incitement, I don't think so.

And yes, I do see the irony in my childish references to the above.
