It's not your fault and I do not mean it as a criticism but it is simple "auto suggestion" on their part whether we acknowledge it or not.  Thankfully though a few hacks seem to be turning against them and refusing to pander.  At last.

Rest assured that unlike a lot of City fans I do not have an in built dislike of everything red (but I'm getting there).  I am one of those who had been known in years gone by to got to O.T. from time to time (alot did) but they were not the same united as they are today.  They are now masters of media manipulation.  The new united I have no time for.

I respect your opinion, however I just don't agree with it but that's what forums are for.

DesperateDon

The notion that I have somehow been influenced by a media favouring 'Man Utd' is totally ridiculous.

I stated with conviction that had the 'Boot' (Sorry for pun) been on the other foot and it was Neville who celebrated in such a fashion, my sentiments would have been exactly the same.
My 'Mindset' has not been manipulated and tainted by the media.

Well of course we have a 'Man Utd' loving press, whose raison d'etre is to manipulate the minds of the massed ranks of football fans into being on their side.
Such 'Brainwashing' !

Total and utter bosh.

Rex Flin " Oh such brainwashin' "

You are right it is a great song for singing.

Don

And you will be singing it in the final of the 'Carling Cup' ! --- Oh hang on a minute.

I really do believe that your team need to shore up a somewhat leaky defence if you are to maintain a sustained challenge at the top. A total of 11 goals conceded in the last 4 games speaks volumes and I am led to believe that both Lescott and Toure (Who were both big money signings) have yet to form a rock solid partnership.

Eleven goals conceded in the last four games ??? I'm afraid your source of information is a wee bit off the mark there !
In actual fact Man city have conceded 7 goals in the last 4 games (in all competitions) and only 3 goals in the last 4 premier league games ! ....Not great , but not as bad as you seem to think !
As for Toure and Lescott (City's first choice center backs), they havn't played together in any of those games , so all in all we've done ok with our 'back up' players .
Who knows , when we get some of our 'first team' players back we may be capable of maintaining a sustained challenge at the top .

By the way Rex , having read some of your previous posts , i believe you're a bit of a 'Pompey' fan . how do you think they'll do on sunday against City ?

Hello Paul

Shows you that I don't 'Google' all the time, a charge that has been made before on this forum !

I keep hearing that Lescott and Toure haven't yet justified their price tags and whilst Kompany and Richards can play at centre half, I would not say that they are worth regular starts in this position. Toure is not the biggest for a central defender and I am led to believe that he never wore a pair of football boots until he was 12 years of age.

Well Pompey didn't do to well I think its Championship football for them next season. TBH though City were garbage and if it wasn't for the fact we were playing the team rooted to the bottom I very much doubt we would have taken any points what so ever. We looked tired and as though the players had big mental hangovers from the cup exit. Oh well bring on Saturday with a new set of durracels installed into them.

Agreed, what a miserably cold day it was with the football even worse.  Never mind Pompey being relegated, they may even go out of business.  This would be a travesty as it should not happen to any club irrespective of bad management.  It must be awful being a Pompey player, trying to motivate yourself to put a shift in not knowing whether you will even get paid. One good thing though, if (when) they do go down they will take their very annoying drum, bell and trumpet back to the land of jester hats and silly songs that is the Championship and long may they stay there.  Nothing against Pompey but those things are so pathetically annoying at the game.  They are an embarrassment along with that fool with the tattoos etc who likes to get his 5 seconds of fame at every televised game. Smacks of small time.

Edit>

Oops. Just remembered about our inflatables. Cancel the above jester hat comment!

That so called "Fool" is a loyal supporter who travels the length and breadth of the country supporting his idols so fair play to him.
As for "Fame" - he cannot help it, if the TV cameras decide they want to parade him before the nation !

Rex Flin " Loyal supportin' "
