Also went to watch Bradford vs Blackburn in a pre season friendly. I don't know why i bother every year i know that it is going to be a game played at the same pace as people in a retirement home and yet i still part with £10 to watch the garbage. We look mega short of some wide men got no wingers currently and the start of the season is fast approaching so if malaga have some fast young lads send them out way [smile]

Lads and dads on Saturday mornings? Shows you how things have changed, all these cookery shite programmes especially the one presented by that ex Soccer AM tosser who knows nothing about football Lovejoy. In my day Saturday mornings were for laying in bed smacking a few out over Sally James before pre match pie and beans while watching On The Ball then wrestling from Batley Town Hall with Kid Chocolate the token black wrestler with the politically incorrect name. Then off to Selhurst to watch the Team of the 80s in the making with Big Mal and the serial club rapist. Kin ell.

In 1988 I went to Bradford 0 Palace 1, I got a kick on the legs in the main stand for Ian Wright scoring the winner. Had a good time pre match though I remember a strip club on the main road up from that main stand where I and my mates were told by our hosts to to keep our mouths shut with our Saaarf Landan accents. We stayed in a pub called The Elephant & Castle (South London name in Bradford?!) on the Horton Road it was great hospitality. One thing I did notice though was even the newsagents smelt like curry houses. Went to get a packet of fags ended up wanting onion bhaji starter, chicken dhansak, pilau rice, saag aloo, keema naan, 2 popadoms, with the usual dips and 6 pints of Cobra.

Haha i work on a not so great estate in Bradford and it is something that we run on there.

The year i was born that, never heard of that pub probably closed down now like alot of things in Bradford, hope you enjoyed your curry that is one thing that you can get in Bradford and not be disappointed.

Season starts next week first game at home against Coventry, really dont have a clue what to expect we are seriously short on numbers and with no width and pace in the side and our main striker injured it should be a fun start to the season.

Im keeping my eyes on the malaga fixtures my last hope is that there is a cup game when i am out!!

Hi Tom I don't know when you are in Malaga but if Malaga are away to any "Local" team maybe their could be a trip to that game---depends who Malaga are playing.

Last season Málaga didn't enter the Copa del Rey until December I'm afraid. Still, Real Sociedad is only up the road! [smile]

No direct flights there, I flew to Bilbao and got a coach to San Sebastián (where Sociedad is), then a train to Madrid then a train back to Málaga. Stayed in Bilbao and San Sebastián for a long weekend, not worth going all that way just for the match!
