I have now stayed several times in the Estepona area and have noticed every time, that the weather around here is considerably worse than in other areas of the Costa del Sol.

I am currently in Estepona and on several occasions, it has been sunny in Marbella and raining in Estepona. The close proximity to the Atlantic and the Estrecho rund um Gibraltar are obviously contributing factor. I am sure, estate agents are keeping this fact quiet....

I spent nearly 10 years in Estepona and although I hate the term, it does have a microclimate.

Frequently it works the other way round though, the weather can be much better than elsewhere and I am sure it is less windy.

If I had listened in Geography, I could blame the position of the mountains and the way the coast runs, but I didn't so I can't!

I take it that if it's the Manchester of Spain it is delightfully empty of 'Man U' fans - I might think of moving there....

Perhaps such sentiments perpetuate a total and utter myth. I was performing in the Cheshire area earlier in the season and witnessed a number of supporters proudly adorning their 'Red' colours not only in this area but in the centre of Manchester on a day when the team were playing away from home.

Admittedly 'Man Utd' draw support from far and wide but perhaps one should NOT conclude that Manchester and it's suburbs are a 'Red Devils free zone'.
